Welcome! In this blog post I’ll share tips for a family photo shoot.
If the question of "What to Wear" is weighing heavy on your mind, here are some tips to get you started in the right direction.
- The days of matching family photos are finally over - yeah! Instead, choose a coordinating palette of 3 -4 colors and dress your family in shades of that palette. Most families start with the mother's outfit and build the family's ensemble around that.
- Keep things mainly neutral with pops of color. For example, choose mainly khaki, grays, browns, creams or pink - with shots of rust or green or navy. Steer clear of brights or neons as they do not photograph well and often cast unflattering colors on various skin tones.
- Now it’s time for accessories - I love this part! We have different stores around the area where they sell accessories. They have jewelry in every color, different styles and are priced reasonably. Let’s say the clothes above are what I need to find accessories for. The accessories below would be perfect for pulling these clothes together.
- Have either a fresh coat of nail polish on your nails that coordinates with your outfit or don’t have any nail polish on at all. You don’t want chipped nail polish.
Wear makeup even if you don’t normally. If you don’t usually wear makeup, use a tinted moisturizer and mascara. I suggest going to your salon and getting profesional makeup and hair done.
